Legislative Priorities

Colorado Families for Vaccines is dedicated to protecting and strengthening access to safe, effective immunizations for people across the lifespan. During each legislative session, we closely monitor proposed policies that impact vaccine access, public health infrastructure, and community safety. We mobilize families, clinicians, and advocates to speak up in support of science-based policy that protects Colorado communities.

If you believe in evidence-based public health and vaccine confidence, we invite you to join us.

We support legislation that:

  • Expands equitable access to vaccines for all Coloradans, regardless of geography, income, or insurance status.

  • Promotes the importance and uptake of routine, prenatal, and newborn immunizations.

  • Strengthens vaccine education through accurate, science-based information.

  • Protects Colorado’s most vulnerable populations — including young children, older adults, pregnant people, and those who are immunocompromised.

  • Preserves strong school and workplace vaccine policies that safeguard community health.

  • Strengthens Colorado’s capacity to prevent and respond to infectious disease outbreaks.

  • Encourages continued innovation in vaccine research and public health preparedness.

We oppose legislation that:

  • Undermines public confidence in vaccine safety through misinformation or politically motivated interference in science-based guidance.

  • Creates unnecessary barriers to vaccine access or weakens existing public health protections.

  • Increases the risk of preventable outbreaks in schools, healthcare settings, or communities.

  • Disregards the expertise of public health professionals when responding to infectious disease threats.

  • Limits the ability of schools, employers, or healthcare facilities to implement policies that protect the health of students, staff, patients, or customers.
